YouTube’s Biggest Art Collab is FINISHED
Two and a half years ago, I responded to a DM on Instagram from a UK-based artist named Bill. I didn’t fully realized it at the time, but that reply marked the beginning of something extraordinary. I had just agreed to be part of a project that would grow into the largest collaborative art project between Youtubers from around the world. Not only did this project bring together creators on an unprecedented scale, but it’s about to raise tens of thousands of dollars for charity.

What is ‘YouTube’s Biggest Art Collab’?
Imagine a canvas that travels across the globe, passing from one artist to another, each leaving their unique mark until it transforms into a collective masterpiece. That’s the idea behind an ambitious project launched by artist and Youtuber ‘Ten Hundred’.
The concept was simple: paint a section of a big canvas, share the progress on Youtube and hand the canvas over to someone new (until the canvas is completely filled with art).
It didn’t take long for this venture to earn its fitting name: “YouTube’s Biggest Art Collab”.
And as the project grew, so did its ambition, eventually expanding to include not one, not two, but three canvases!
Two and a half years ago, one of those canvases somehow made its way to my doorstep :)

A Three Year Journey
When the spotlight shifted towards me, the canvas had already spent six months traveling the world and collected six bold and colorful contributions.
Like I mentioned before, I wrote extensively about my part in YouTube’s Biggest Art Collab in a dedicated blog post, which you can read here. But in a nutshell, to leave my mark on this collaborative masterpiece, I went with … (spoiler alert!) … an intricate frame design.
Then, as tradition dictates, once my contribution was complete, I selected the next artist, and off went the canvas.
Here’s what the canvas looked like after I left my imprint on it:
Hard to believe that was two and a half years ago!
Yep, the process of adding to the canvas and passing it along until the entire canvas was completely filled continued for another two and a half years after I added my part to the canvas.
The artwork continued moving, growing, and evolving with each new artist, and just exploded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams! What it turned into just blew me away in so many ways…

This collaborative project embodies the true essence of teamwork and creativity. It wasn’t just a ‘painting’ collaboration, it was an ‘art’ collaboration in every possible sense.
The cabinet’s exterior is a stunning mixed media piece depicting an astronaut adrift in the boundless universe. Open the door, and that universe unfurls further, revealing an explosion of diverse artistic styles within. It’s a masterpiece, both in its physical execution and symbolic depth.
I’m genuinely glad it took as long as it did to complete. The story, the adventure, the struggle, and finally, the success behind this piece of art is incredible and will live with us - the viewers and the creators - forever.

Raising Money For Charity

This project wasn’t just about creating a masterpiece, it was also about making an impact.
In the next couple of days, the original artwork will go up for auction, and prints will be available for purchase. 100% of the profits from the sales will go to the Givewell Top Charities Fund.
